OK So totally NOT related to my blog topic AT ALL but last week I ordered 2 bags from Matt & Nat and today I got my package!!! The only thing is....instead of getting 2 bags...there were 9 in the box!!! I got the 2 I ordered but an additional 8 of one style. SO WEIRD!!! First thing that went in to my mind was 'OMG I ORDERED 8???' After double checking the bill and calling our credit card to see what the recent charges were...we realized that it must have been a mistake on Matt & Nat's part. Second thing that went through mine and Ed's mind?? YAY FREE STUFF (hey, it's only human!!). But within 2 seconds my tummy started churning and I KNEW there's NO WAY I can keep them or even think of selling them for profit. I have to give them back. I will call them Monday to let them know. HOWEVER, if they want me to send them back I will only do so if they send me money first for the shipping....no way am I coughing up the costs to ship them back when it was THEIR fault. I think that's fair enough. I'd just give them away to friends.
Anyways here's photos of my random adventure HAHA
My package!!!
I was confused by the multiple bundles!
WHOA!!! There's only 8 here because I was trying one on.
So more than 2 weeks have passed but I will haven't got my period yet....BUT I did take a pregnancy test yesterday and it was a negative. I expect my period to arrive next week but if it's not here by Tuesday (which is the day it normally comes on) I will test again. I was told by a friend that sometimes even though you're pregnant the test still says negative because your HCG levels are not yet high enough to be detected. So here's hoping!!!!!!
I know this blog is supposed to be all about my journey into Motherhood BUT I need to vent and it's not like it has NOTHING to do with when I AM a mother.
So Ed and I have a house and we rent out a suite downstairs (the house is 2 levels) to a mother in her late 30's/early 40's. her 16 year old and her 50+ mother. When we were choosing tenants almost a year ago we chose them because they seemed really nice and the 16 year old did NOT look like one of those teenagers who would be up to no good. Needless to day we made a few mistakes on our part by assuming things. In our ad we had asked for non-smokers but for some stupid reason we forgot to ASK them if the ever were non-smokers...they're not. We also forgot to ask them about their work schedules...she works late night shifts and this means a total clash of our sleep schedules. And we forgot to ask them to pay for their own utilities so they thought it was a part of the monthly price...even though it was stated in the ad that utilities would be split according to the number of people living in the house.
ANYWAYS...let's just say lessons learned and since this was only the first time we were landlords we'll have tons to learn from next time...their lease is up in October *HORRAY* I'm actually kind of glad I'm NOT pregnant right now because of the situation downstairs.
Just today I woke up to loud music playing downstairs because the 16 year old is home alone cuz mom and grandma are out at work. The bass was SO loud that I had a migraine within the hour. I had to leave the house for a nice long QUIET walk to try to get the booming sound out of my head. And YES we had already asked him to turn it down but he's 16 with no supervision. We came back home from our walk and it was loud again so Ed called the mom who had returned home. After an hour with no changes I got so fed up because my head hurt SO much I went downstairs to ask them to turn it off. I had to POUND on the door because they couldn't hear me knocking on it due to the loud music. The mom did not look pleased with my request but at least the did turn it off.
This is just the most RECENT incident. I'd say Ed and I are down there on average 3 times a week asking them to turn the volume down...and usually this happens after 11pm on WEEKDAY nights. Some weekend nights the mom will have friends over sitting on our driveway smoking and drinking beer at 2am in the morning. Since the weather has got a lot hotter around here we've had our bedroom window open so the smoke was totally coming inside. We went down to ask them to move and she was apologetic but told me there's no where for her and her friends to sit since they didn't have a patio or anything....umm is that MY problem???
So ya to put it lightly we are fed up. I don't know what I would do if I had a child in the house...or worse...a BABY who would need quite time to sleep. We totally will learn from our mistake this time around and we are totally NOT renewing their lease in October. No more kids downstairs, no more smoke blowing into the house in the summer and no more having people who are up all night!
Just another week and I can test to see if I'm pregnant.....now I understand why every 'getting pregnant' blog I read about has at least SOME posts about the agony of the TWW period. Waiting half a month is a long time!! Pregnant or not I can't wait to find out!
---------------
I used ovulation strips during my last ovulation cycle but I never got a full serge....which is really weird because last time I did but I used a different brand/type of tests. I tested pretty often but then if we were out all day then I'd miss testing on that day. Either way I think we got it on often enough HAHA I've had friends mess up on ovulation testing and still got pregnant because they just ended up doing it almost every day. Ed was starting to ask me why I even bothered testing...he said we should just do it at least every other day a week after my period ends and do it for 2-3 weeks straight....HAHA
You know the saying..."The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side?" Right now the side I'm on is 'Married and No Kids'. I long to have children of my own someday. At times I see other people with babies and I wish that was me. Well lately I've been thinking about what it would be like if I WERE on that side. I know myself really well and I KNOW that when I finally do get on the 'other side' and have my own kids I will totally look back on my PRE-kids days and wish I could have the freedom I have now.
All my Mommy friends always tell me...it's SO worth it having kids and it's SO rewarding. I don't doubt that it is BUT...I'm sure they ALL wish from time to time that they could spend their Saturday with their girlfriends downtown on the patio having lunch and then then head to the beach for a few hours and just chat and laugh. That's what I did yesterday with mine =) I'm totally trying to soak in EVERY last drop of ME time before I AM a Mommy.
I love to travel and there ARE still a few places I wish I could go before I have kids. But between money and time it might not be possible and I've already pretty much accepted that. That's why Ed and I have our little plan to wait until next Spring to try again if we're not pregnant by the end of next month.
The thing is when I start thinking like this I question myself if I'm truly ready to be Mommy (again!). NOT being pregnant and wanting to makes me wonder more and more if this is God's way of telling me that I'm not ready yet or this isn't my time yet...which I am TOTALLY fine with but I wish I could just KNOW instead of trying every single month and NOT drinking wine or eating raw foods during my TTW period. Everytime I've done that and then got my period I feel like I wasted time. Time that I COULD have been doing things that I like....I drinking wine and eating raw foods. Time like planning for trips instead of when to start peeing on ovulation strips again (not that I hate it...it's kinda fun!).
The thought of me resenting my own child makes me angry with myself but I'm thinking there will be days where you DO wish you could have your freedom back. Did any of you ladies feel this way when you were trying? Self doubting or wondering if you even SHOULD be trying yet? Or scared that once you ARE a Mommy it wouldn't be all that you hoped it would be? That you MIGHT have days where you resent it.
I was bored today so I went on Youtube and watched/listend to all the songs from our wedding...thought I'd share since wedding planning season is just starting for all those ladies who got engaged over the summer (seems to be the most popular time to propose!)...enjoy!!

My husband Ed is an electrician. He's currently in his 4th year as an apprentice and just started school last week to complete his last year of schooling. His course is 10 weeks long so that means no fun for him until the course is done. This is the last of 4 courses and after he's done he will finally get paid the full pay an electrician should get...no more apprentice wages! It's been nice having him home earlier from school (he's off at 2:30) and since I'm not back to work until September, I'm pretty much feeling like a mom to a college kid HAHA.
